Getting Advice

To release equity from your home, you must take advice from a qualified Adviser. You can rest assured that we will only recommend Equity Release if it’s the right thing for your circumstances. Your dedicated advisor will tell you everything you need to know including the effect on the amount of inheritance you can leave and if your entitlement to means-tested benefit could be affected now or in the future.

Our initial advice appointment is free and without obligation. Our Advisers will get to know you and your circumstances and make sure you’re recommended a plan that suits you.

Only if your case completes, and you receive your money, would our advice fee of £1,695 be payable. Other lender and solicitor fees may apply.

Things you should consider

You should be aware that equity release may involve a home reversion plan or lifetime mortgage which is secured against your property and will reduce the value of your estate and impact funding long-term care.

We will consider a range of plans from the whole of the market to find one to suit your circumstances. The features mentioned and the amounts raised, are subject to the lender’s criteria, terms and conditions. These may take into account age, health and lifestyle factors in order to provide you with an enhanced amount. You will only continue to own your own home with a lifetime mortgage.

Equity release does require paying off any existing mortgage and any money released, plus accrued interest would be repaid upon death, or moving into long-term care. There are plans that allow you to make voluntary repayments, subject to lender criteria, however early repayment charges may apply above a set limit.
